"Remember the Alamo!"

A GIUK scenario

BACKGROUND:

Two CBG's were sent to the bottom of the GIUK Gap on W+3 by coordinated
Soviet Backfire and SAG attacks. The remnants of the CBG's air wings
flew one last strike at the Soviet SAG and headed to the beach at Bodo,
Norway. There, they have joined up with the survivors of Norway's Air
Force and some stragglers from the Royal Air Force Raids on Luostari on
W+1.

Earlier today, the Soviets completed a combined arms assault on Orland,
Norway, completely flanking your position.
Combined with their positions in Keflavik, this puts Soviet forces on
all sides. It is not a pretty picture.

NATO ORDERS:

Simple - survive for 36 hours. Plans have been laid to re-take the
airfields at Keflavik. This should relieve some of the pressure. But
you must hold to threaten the Soviet flank.

If at all possible, you should use available strike aircraft in
offensive roles, but remember, the main thing is the survival of
Bodo. Conserve your remaining aircraft.

INTELLIGENCE:

The only good news is that the Soviets have landed less than two full
regiments of aircraft at Orland. We believe these to be mixed strike
and fighter groups, with no long-range bombers on site at this time.
Keflavik still bases what's left of two regiments of bombers, along
additional strike aircraft. It is reasonable to assume that these
strike aircraft will be sent to Orland as soon as possible to strike
at you. Luostari and Kildistenroy both base at least partial regiments
of bombers, as well as Flankers for BARCAP and Fulcrums for escort
duty.

No additional information on the success of the last strike on the SAG
is available.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:

Minimum - Retain use of Bodo at more than 50%. Destroy 75 attackers.
Damage 2 bases at least 50%.

Total - Retain use of Bodo at more than 50%. Destroy 99 attackers.
          Destroy 2 bases.
